The Barker League
Grab your friends and sign up for the most fun you'll have on a basketball court this winter. The Barker League is our in-town hoops league for all ability levels.
In grades 1-3, players focus on skill and team development with combined sessions of practice and game action. From 4th to 8th grade, the kids will make memories that last, competing with and against friends for big Saturday wins and league championships.
The TBL season will start Saturday 11/18/23 and will end on Saturday 2/10/23.
Please use this registration if your player wants to play in The Barker League, but does NOT want to participate in Hingham Travel basketball.
Travel players will automatically be registered in The Barker League as well and should use the Hingham Travel registration.
Grades
The Barker League offers divisions for 1st through 8th grade.
When
The Barker League games are played on Saturdays at gyms throughout town. The season will run from November 18th through February 10th with weekends off for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Where
The Barker League sessions are played at gyms throughout Hingham including East Elementary School, Plymouth River School, South Elementary School, Hingham Middle School, Hingham High School, and Derby Academy.
The Lab
The Barker League offers a unique skill development opportunity for with our Sunday morning 'The Lab' series. Have your player develop their skills with top coaches from local AAU clubs, specialty instructors, and other notable teachers of the game.
Games
Grades 1, 2, and 3 will have a 30-minute practice at the start of their 75-minute session, followed by a 40-45 minute game.
Grades 1 and 2 games will be refereed by coaches with an emphasis of keeping the game fun and safe.
Referees begin working games in grade 3, but no score is kept.
Starting in 4th grade, referees work the games, scores are kept, and standings determine playoff seeding on the way to league championships.
Jerseys
Our NBA replica jerseys will give players a chance to rep their TBL gear around town while feeling like a real pro on the court.
HYB - 2023/24
This registration is for players who want to play in The Barker League ONLY and do not plan to participate in Hingham Travel basketball.
Our fall registration period runs through October 22nd. Late registrations after October 22nd will include a $50 late fee.
