Registration for The Barker League, Hingham's in-town rec basketball league, is open for the 2025-26 season!
Grab your friends and sign up for the most fun you'll have on a basketball court this winter. The Barker League is our in-town hoops league for all ability levels.
In grades 1-3, players focus on skill and team development with combined sessions of practice and game action. From 4th to 8th grade, the kids will make memories that last, competing with and against friends for big Saturday wins and league championships.
Our fall registration period runs through October 19th. Late registrations after October 19th will include a $50 late fee.
For this year's The Barker League, we're going back to school AND back in time to one of the greatest college seasons in NCAA history—the 1995-1996 season that featured 11 future Hall of Famers!
Today we kick off the jersey unveiling with the team that walked into the '95-'96 season as the defending champions (and still the NCAA leader with 11 championships), led by Toby Bailey, Cameron Dollar, and Jelani McCoy.
While their season would end in an historic first round upset at the hands of Pete Carril's Princeton Tigers, it doesn't get better than the baby blue and gold of the UCLA Bruins!
Hingham Travel Basketball is a selective program designed for players to test their skills and development against top players from the region and the state.
Offered in 3rd through 8th grades, players interested in participating in travel basketball should make every effort to attend all of their grade level tryouts. We understand that conflicts may arise, which is why each grade level has multiple tryouts. However, there is no opportunity to try out with another grade level. Also, players who do not attend at least one tryout, unless granted a waiver, will not be eligible to play on the top team at their grade level.
Travel teams will practice during the week and play games on the weekend. Most teams participate in the South Shore Youth Basketball League, playing against area towns.

Hingham Youth Basketball was thrilled this summer to put some of our fundraising dollars back into the Hingham basketball community by upgrading the outdoor basketball hoops at Bare Cove Park.

Huge congrats to 6B for their SSYBL Div 3 Championship Win 🏆 👏🏻 🏀 They defeated a tough East Bridgewater team who went undefeated for the season (16-0) in the championship game on Sunday! Beyond proud of this squad and their fearless leaders, Coaches Bradl and Taylor.
Congrats 8A!!! What a season to top off their Hingham Travel careers. This team won both the Metrowest and SSYBL championships! This is the 3rd year in a row they have brought home the big prize in the SSYBL league.
